Quality dash kits CAR’S LIGHTS. These guys aren’t letting up. The Corvette team is relentlessly chipping away at every reasonable argument a rational buyer can articulate for choosing some big-name, bucks-up, blue-blooded bahn-stormer over the crossed-flag cruise missile that Zora launched. This C6-1/2-generation Vette boasts more refinements and detail enhancements than one expects from a mid-cycle refresh of a supercar, but are they enough to steer the Porsche/BMW/Benz/Jag buyers into a Chevy store? To find out, we spirited a manual coupe and an automatic convertible away from the General’s Milford Proving Ground for a romp across rural southeast Michigan.

One of the biggest and best-deserved beefs brought by the stringback-gloved set against the Vette is that its interior was too rent-a-Chevy, its pleasing design marred by downscale grains, textures, and gaps. All Corvettes get metal sill plates and classier looking new center-console trim, in either a carbon-fiber or metal-screen type finish, with brightwork around the shifter and cupholder. But to lure the Eurosnobs, there’s a new Custom Leather Wrapped Interior package. Practically every surface you see or touch is swathed in supple leather, handstitched by the nice folks at Draexlmaier-the same ones treating the hides in Maybach, Mercedes, and up-level Cadillac cockpits. The seat inserts are perforated leather in either a light “Linen” or darker “Sienna” color. Pricing hasn’t been announced, but it’s expected to run $4,000-5,000, given the list of gear it includes. It’ll be worth paying for, though, and will still leave plenty of savings when compared with any Euro-rocket that can touch the Corvette’s performance.

Speaking of which, wow. The base Corvette automatic can now run with the C5 Z06, sprinting from 0-to-60 mph in 4.3 seconds enroute to a claimed top speed of 190 mph. Impatient automatic drivers can spring for a new, shorter 2.73:1 axle ratio for even sprightlier passing (it’s standard on Z51 automatics). Here again, it’s not just the overall performance (of about 10 percent), but the finesse with which it achieves it that impresses. The new intake manifold, resonator, and acoustic helmet manage to quell the high-order frequencies that applied an unwelcome layer of slightly agricultural-grade noise over the trademark V-8 burble and growl. Want even more of the same? Ante up for option code NPP ($1,200). This two-mode exhaust, like the one on the Z06, adds six horsepower and four pound-feet. When it opens up at around 3500 rpm, backpressure is reduced 80 percent, and you get what sounds and feels like a VTEC transition with a nicely sharpened snarl (it stays open briefly on overrun, too, providing some lovely crackles and pops). It’s every bit as enticing as any boxer or inline-six.

Upshifts ordered via the steering-wheel paddles are 30 percent quicker, downshifts 50-75 percent quicker. The paddles work with the shifter in the S position only, which, sad to say, doesn’t invoke a performance-algorithm shift schedule when you’re not shifting manually (stay tuned, this may yet come to pass). The Tremec manual box also has been thoroughly made over. The ends of the gear teeth are sharpened to reduce the likelihood of hanging up when shifting between gears. The synchronizer packs are slightly more compact, allowing the gears to be fattened for greater torque capacity. But what you’ll notice most from the driver’s seat is that the shifter feels lighter and way more precise. The old “rock crusher” moniker no longer applies. The shifter knob doesn’t feel as handy as those of the best Porsches and BMWs (it still shreds one’s palm during quick shifts toward the top of the pattern), but what it’s connected to feels damned close.

“Lighter and more precise” are apt descriptions of the steering as well, thanks primarily to tighter machining tolerances for the rack-and-pinion gears and a stiffer intermediate shaft. With less slop in the system there’s less filtering of the data the tires are picking up at the road surface. The cornering effort perceived through the steering wheel builds nicely as you lean the car harder into a bend. It’s no Porsche helm for road feel (name a front-engine car that can touch that bogey), but it’s closing in on BMW and better than Mercedes.

Boxster, Cayman, and Z4 intenders should carefully examine a new Corvette-and the increasingly shaky foundations of their biases against it. Quality dash kits CAR’S LIGHTS.

2005 Chrysler 300 Safety, Powertrain.CAR’S LIGHTS.

2005 Chrysler 300 quality dash kits . Anyone who likes American cars is going to love the 300. It also appeals to anyone who needs a family sedan with a ton of room and wants to waft down the highway serenely. The base 300 is a bit underpowered, but the mid-level 300s deliver the right amount of performance for most consumers at an attractive price point. The 300C, however, is the true standout, quickening an enthusiasts’ pulse by incorporating all the things we love about American cars-style, presence, lots of horsepower, and a mean V-8 engine note-along with some of the sophistication we’ve come to expect of the best German cars. The 300C has balanced steering, fine brakes, a supple ride, and good handling, thanks to its rear-wheel-drive layout and all-around independent suspension that has a lot in common with the far pricier Mercedes Benz E-Class. The SRT8 is fast, mean, and a riot to drive-plus it’s priced many thousands less than competitive models.
Ownership
Ultimately, all 300s feel like cut-rate luxury cars rather than overpriced family sedans, buyers will congratulate themselves for making the right value decision, while remaining cognizant of certain refinement and technology compromises. The space, power, and road presence is more than enough to compensate for any showroom envy specification-watchers may have. Many luxury-car makers offer a better warranty than Chrysler’s 3-year/36,000-mile deal, but at least all 300s come with the Chrysler Premium Care Warranty, which gives you a free loaner car for non-body shop maintenance and repairs. Most 300s can tow 2,000 pounds, but we suspect that the majority of their owners will prefer to leave the trailer behind, as the car’s looks are greatly diminished with a Coleman camper in tow. The 2005 Chrysler 300 earned the IntelliChoice Best Overall Value of the Year award in the Large Car category, proving that its object value proposition is as appealing as its distinctive styling. 2005 Chrysler 300 quality dash kits .

New and Used Car LIGHTS Reviews.

Filed under: Uncategorized — grilles @ 12:24 pm

The Magnum dash kit review. The R/T longs for grippier tires. It comes with Continental Touring all-season tires, P225/60R18, which were the likely cause of the Electronic Stability Program’s occasional intrusion into our hard but not overboard driving. As the tires lost their limited bite, the ESP feathered the throttle. With stickier tires, it’s unlikely that intrusion would occur. A good idea is to add the 20-inch wheels available this year with their high-performance rubber, even though they may not last as long or work as well in the winter. We also felt the front wheels bouncing at times, which was the only blemish on an otherwise great ride, tested in a variety of road conditions.

The brakes are fully up to the task. The front vented rotors measure 13.6 inches, an inch larger than the SE and SXT, and the rear vented rotors are 12.6; additionally, the front brakes use dual piston calipers. Couple that mechanical strength with ABS with Brake Assist, which balances the braking between front and rear and, no worries, you’re going to get stopped when you need to. On twisty mountain roads we repeatedly hammered the brakes into downhill curves, and the pedal never once showed any sign of stress or distress, or brake fade, an impressive feat given the weight of the Magnum.

The SRT8 is to the Magnum what BMW’s M3 or M5 is to the 3 Series or 5 Series. It attempts to address the tire dilemma, with standard footwear being three-season Goodyear F1 Supercar stickies. While this extended somewhat the adhesion limits we encountered in the R/T, it still doesn’t transform a car weighing more than two tons into an exemplar in the handling department. Regardless of the amount of rubber touching the road, the Magnum plows when driven as hard as its image might tempt an enthusiastic driver. The ride is markedly stiffer than in the R/T, and the lowered suspension much more talkative over anything less than glass-smooth pavement. The ride is bumpy on bumpy neighborhood streets. The front spoiler drags like a Corvette on the sharp transitions between some side streets and the main road.

All that said, the 6.1-liter Hemi easily resolves the R/T’s minor deficiencies in the power department; granted, the power band isn’t much broader, but there’s ample horsepower and torque to compensate. The SRT8’s 6.1-liter V8 Hemi pumps out 425 horsepower and 425 pound-feet of torque through a performance-tuned, five-speed AutoStick automatic. Fuel economy is an EPA-estimated 14/20 mpg. Anything more than a temperate foot on the gas pedal readily produced rear wheel spin, even with the ESP active. Turn it off, and it’s back to the days of adolescent, muscle car hi-jinks. The specs say that the SRT8’s engine is electronically limited to 6600 rpm, but the tachometer indicates a 6250 rpm redline, and upshifts generally occurred between 6000 and redline. The engine felt comfortable at that speed, as it should, seeing as how the 425 horsepower peaks at 6400 rpm.

Thankfully, stopping does not hark back to those yesteryears when wide-eyed, two-foot braking was not uncommon. The SRT8 comes with beefed up brakes. Front vented discs grow to 14.2 inches, rears to 13.8, and four-piston, aluminum, Brembo calipers do the clamping all around. Again, as with the R/T, over several hundred miles of every type of driving, from about-town shuttling to an occasional retro-blast down a favorite racer road loaded with hairpins, half-mile straights and moderate whoop-de-dos, we never had reason to doubt the SRT8’s ability to stop, and right now.

The Magnum feels mighty big in crowded parking lots. Rear park assist or a rearview camera would be a blessing for this long car, but neither is offered. When parallel parking, care must be taken to avoid scuffing the 20-inch wheels as there’s insufficient rubber extending beyond the rims to protect them from even the slightest brush against a curb. Modern alloy wheels scratch easily and damaging one is always a depressing event.

Road Test: 2005 Dodge Dakota dash kits CAR’S LIGHTS.

CAR’S LIGHTS nice dash kits. Powering the new truck are three engines, two of which (the 3.7-liter V-6 and the 4.7-liter V-8) were carried over from last year. However, new for 2005 is a high-output 4.7-liter V-8, with 250-plus horsepower, more than 300 pound-feet of torque, and a growling rumble that’ll make you want to risk getting a few speeding tickets. While these specs come close to the 5.9-liter Magnum V-8 engine in the Dakota R/T (2003 was its last year), this new H.O. motor won’t be available with a manual transmission, unlike that previous model’s. (Perhaps a Hemi SRT or R/T version, complete with manual, is in the Dakota’s future?)

This article will take a beginners look at this interesting subject. It will give you the information that you need to know most.

The new Getrag six-tempo manual shifter is available with the V-6 or the accepted-output V-8.

load gift, towing gift, GVWR, and GCWR were all enlarged, and the records beat everything in its caste. Because both models segment frames, the nightclub Cab comes only with a 6-base-6-edge bed and the patio Cab receives a 5-base-4-edge bed.

A four-tempo regular is voluntary with the V-6, and the well-worn 5-45RFE five-tempo regular is an selection on the accepted 4.7-liter V-8. The five-tempo vehicle is the only transmission available for the high-output V-8.shelter skin enter a new higher airbag order, voluntary area-curtain airbags that can shield both rows of seats, voluntary four-turn ABS (rear-turn is accepted), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, and front recording brakes.Just like its elder brother and SUV cousin, the truck’s outdoor was intended to look tougher and more distinctive than the previous generation.

In the beginning of this article, we went over the basics. Now, we will look at this topic a little more in-depth.

Its fender flares are more aggressive and front fascia more chiseled. As with the Durango, an airdam was added below the front fascia to enhance the front end’s new look, while dipping airflow under the truck to drop drag. The interior customary a makeover as well. It was given a dust, austere plan, with enhanced seat, door, and console resources, and a new, easier-to-read instrument panel. Thicker front flute and new door seals have seriously condensed clatter in the berth, and just enough engine clatter comes through.

With the new interior comes a new line of stereos, counting voluntary Sirius satellite radio, six-recording in-dash CD changer, and integrated UConnect handsfree communication.evade had to gait a tender line with the new Dakota–the business hunted to make the truck superior, earlier, and more comfortable, but had to be really the new truck didn’t action on the Ram 1500’s toes. The manufacturer succeeded in making the Dakota a viable selection for two different buyers: those who want more than a compact, and those who want a tow vehicle that’s minor than a bursting-amount. As to estimate and amount, evade is present V-8 weight for under $20,000–and no other truck designer can say that.

2009 Dodge Journey – Lihgts, dask kit.

Filed under: Uncategorized — grilles @ 1:23 pm

Lihgts, dask kit. Entering the crossover segment for the first time, Dodge offers up the 2009 Journey. Sharing a platform with the Avenger, but adding five inches to the wheelbase, the Journey comes standard with two rows of seats for five people, but a two-person bench can be added as a third row.

The emphasis here is on storage and comfort. Storage comes in the form of a dual glove box with cooler, two under-floor storage bins in the second row (also with a 12-can cooler), and a flip-up front passenger cushion that hides a smaller bin. A tri-fold under-floor storage area in the cargo hold adds more versatility, and a roof rack can be added. Comfort is supplied by stadium seating, reclining second and third rows, and a second row that moves forward and back to accommodate the need for extra legroom or extra storage. Both rows also split-fold, and the front passenger seat folds flat if you need to store longer objects. The 2009 Dodge Journey apparently features more third-row headroom than any of its rivals.

The front-wheel drive crossover will be available in three trims — SE, SXT, and R/T. A 2.4-liter, 186-hp I4 engine and 4-speed automatic are standard in the SE, while the SXT and R/T get a 3.5-liter, 235-hp V6 with a new shiftable 6-speed automatic. R/T trims can also be outfitted with automatic all-wheel drive, larger 19-inch wheels, and a performance suspension. All trims keep family in focus by including a lot of standard safety equipment, such as ABS brakes, dual front-side and side curtain airbags for all rows, rollover protection, and traction and stability control. There will be a lot of fun extras, including a DVD player, rearview camera, refrigerator, and a MyGIG entertainment system with hard drive.

The new 2009 Dodge Journey maintains a family wagon feel and look, but adds in a few Dodge performance car nods without appearing too muscular like the Magnum. Large wheel flares, quad halogen headlamps, and a rear liftgate spoiler are some of its distinguishing features. Lihgts, dask kit.

Cadillac STS-V: Driving Impression, CAR’S LIGHTS.

CAR’S LIGHTS.Biasing 60 percent of the authority to the rear twirls gives the all-twirl-hurl STS the active dynamics of rear-twirl hurl while transfer enough authority to the front twirls to yank the car through and out of corners with certainty and confidence. whichever way, the electronic steering is a delight, its only shortcoming a affront quietness on highlight.  The STS tracks well through corners; and twirl-in is fresh, especially with the 18-shuffle, low-profile tires.Active steering, untaken exclusively on V8 exemplarys with AWD, is integrated into the StabiliTrak stability charge electronics. In addition to chargeling brakes and tumbling engine authority, StabiliTrak with active steering can twirl the front twirls to moderate skidding when rear twirls mislay toehold.

The method enters a new steering motor meeting shared with mainframe-hurln electronic charges that determine twirl slippage at all four twirls independently during acceleration, braking and adverse road conditions. Brakes on the STS are up to the car’s ability, with a strong pedal and a feel that’s more linear than not. All of the countless Performance envelopes enter four-piston Brembo calipers, with 13.9-shuffle rotors up front and monster 14.3’s in the rear. All four rotors are vented. The track Departure alert method engages above 35 mph. A green light indicates that the method is twirled on and effective. Should the hurlr thwart a senseed road marking lacking indicateing, the light flashes yellow while an buzzer beeps three epoch.

The method is intended to alert hurlrs so they can take appropriate action to move the vehicle back into their own road. To escape nuisance alerts, the method is intended to not give an alert if the twirl indicate is on or if the hurlr makes a tart movement. Thankfully, the hurlr can also exchange it off, in which situation the light goes out wholly. The trait Blind Zone Alert method uses radar to sweep an 11-bottom zone on moreover area of the vehicle, in other terms, about one road over. The zone starts at each area mirror and makees back about 16 feet.

With the method engaged, an yellow mark light up in the outarea mirror when another vehicle enters this blind zone. Cadillac cautions that the method is not intended to sense vehicles outarea of the area blind zone that may be hastyly approaching, or pedestrians, bicyclists or animals. It’s intended to flout infrastructure such as fire hydrants or parked cars. In addition, the method displays do not come on while the vehicle is approaching or dying other vehicles.

All three engines symbolize the newest GM view, with binary overhead cams, four valves per cylinder and adaptable-valve timing. Called VVT, this last method continuously varies valve setup to produce the most authority from the slightest quantity of fuel with the buck emissions feasible. Torque is what most of us experience as authority in everyday pouring; torque is what gets a car emotive in the first place, like when accelerating from an intersection. Recognizing that, Cadillac engineers intended the STS engines to produce loads of torque throughout the rev extend for responsive performance at all engine rushs.

If you could take the main ideas from this article and put them into a list, you would a great overview of what we have learned. CAR’S LIGHTS.

CAR’S LIGHTS. 2008 model year.

Filed under: Uncategorized — grilles @ 1:00 pm

CAR’S LIGHTS. For the 2008 model year, the Chevrolet Aveo sedan and hatchback carries on in the same vein as in 2007. That it still looks good is testament to its youthful styling as the Aveo has to face new and serious competition from the Honda Jazz, Toyota Yaris, Nissan Tiida and Hyundai Accent.

Available in both sedan and hatchback forms, the Aveo is a no-fuss, everyday commuter with looks that are not dowdy and boring. Both versions get slightly differing exterior looks to differentiate them. The styling and dimensions are well defined and the overall package is in sync with what this segment is all about – that of smart compact cars which are real workhorses with reasonable style, with fuel-efficient peppy engines that can be worked all day offering a decent level of comfort, all at a competitive price that does not pinch pockets hard.

It is a known fact that vehicles in this category are built to a price since basically they constitute the bread and butter models. Styling of the Aveo is decent but breaks no new ground. Both models look the part but the hatchback is definitely sportier. What is attractive about the front-wheel-drive Aveo is the price and, for an economy car, a surprisingly handsome interior that combines a tidy and sensible layout to minimize its economy-car status. It doesn’t scream “cheap” so much as “econo-sensible”.

The Aveo’s boot space is rated at 12.4 cubic feet. That’s competitive in a segment like this and the back seat folds down if the priority becomes carrying stuff instead of people.

The car is powered by an 83hp 1.4-litre four cylinder engine and both manual and automatic transmissions options are offered.

CAR’S LIGHTS – 2005 Dodge Magnum.

Filed under: Uncategorized — grilles @ 6:32 am

CAR’S LIGHTS. Wide turning circle. Thick windshield posts. Rather high cargo opening. The Charger is as boldly styled as the 300 and Magnum, and all share major mechanical components. Dodge raised the Magnum’s body sides and pulled the roofline down tautly around the slit-shaped windows to give it a new proportion of body to glass, which is usually found on custom cars and hot rods. Such cars look low, but really aren’t. Neither is the 58.4-inch-high Magnum. It looks low, but is nearly 2 inches taller than a Cadillac DeVille sedan.

Do you feel that you will learn enough from this article to help you out with the subject matter at hand?

The Magnum comes with rear-tossion or an all-circle-tossion method that continuously tossions all circles for most footing at all epoch. The Magnum is harsh at 3,855-4,324 pounds, so the flag 2.7-liter, 190-horseinfluence V-6 for the establish SE rear-tossion prototype is best able to casual energetic and calls for above scope to toss. The all-circle-tossion SXT gets a 3.5-liter, 250-horseinfluence V-6 that supplys greatly better performance, while the top dog engines are the 340- and 425-horseinfluence Hemis.

However, the 6.1-liter 425-horseinfluence Hemi lacks the cylinder deactivation article of the 5.7-liter Hemi. That article seamlessly deactivates four cylinders during light garrote conditions to conserve fuel. The Magnum with the 340-horseinfluence Hemi does 0-60 mph in a short 6.1 seconds while delivering an estimated 17 mpg in the city and 24-25 on highways with a five-rush habitual transmission, urbanized by the Mercedes-Benz part of the DaimlerChrysler procedure. The 425-horseinfluence Magnum is greatly earlier. But that engine only delivered an estimated 14 mpg in the city and 18 on highways in a rear-tossion 300 I newly hardened. The 2.7 V-6 factory with a four-rush habitual transmission and delivers 21 city and 28 highway, while the mid-variety 250-horseinfluence V-6 is existing with also four- or five-rush habituals.

It supplys 17-19 mpg in the city and 24-27 on the highway, with the all-circle-tossion form having the junior records. The 340- and 425-horseinfluence Hemi in the RT comes only with the five-rush habitual, which has a physical lift article. The Magnum has a long 120-inch circleestablish, which helps supply a level badger with the sophisticated rear suspension from the last-generation Mercedes E-grade prototype. Even the establish SE prototype has greatly comfort and convenience utensils, plus air conditioning, cruise rule, AM/FM/-CD player, opening-folding rear seat and the habitual influence accessories.

Highway mileage is projected to contact 23 mpg, among the top performers in pickups.

Gas mileage will maybe be considerably elevated with the new Cummins turbodiesel engine, planned and shaped specifically for the sidestep Ram. We have more facts on the development and stars of the 2009 sidestep Ram in our Industria Show page. The mega cab is being replaced by a conventional crew cab, but the 2500 and 3500 types will still have mega cabs and sheet-bounce rear suspensions, at slightest in the 2009 type year.
